Bad Beasts Do Not Harm Me was the evocative title for a contemporary jewellery and object exhibition at Craft Victoria in late 2010. The two exhibitors, Natalia Milosz-Piekarska and Karla Way, presented new work which investigated the transcendent and transformative capabilities of materials.
The catalogue documents a selection of the exhibited work and explores the themes of magic and superstition. The contrasting nature of each artist’s output, particularly their respective colour palettes, is highlighted by a structure which effectively divides the publication in two. The design is elevated by details including tip-in divider pages on lightweight paperstock and coloured staples.
